Dr Rebecca Dare

Managing Director, ACRS - Monash Business School

Dr Rebecca Dare is managing director of the Australian Consumer and Retail Studies (ACRS) research unit at Monash Business School. ACRS specialises in delivering rigorous, evidence-based retail and consumer behaviour research, with a focus to understanding the future of retail; technology and shopper experience; and sustainable consumer choices. Her research expertise areas are consumer brand relationships, consumer engagement and consumer activism. She holds a Masters in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Lund, Sweden and a Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne, Australia.

Rebecca also holds over fifteen years’ experience in senior management, insights, strategy and consulting roles at blue-chip FMCG, gained prior to launching her academic career, and has worked in conjunction with major retail groups across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Rebecca has extensive practical experience in thought-leadership, translating research insight into actionable business strategies, and presenting to both academic and industry audiences.

Ian Hamilton

National Director Client Services - Genos International

Ian is the National Director Client Services of Genos International, a business that specialises in the assessment and development of emotional intelligence, employee engagement and motivation. Through using his extensive experience in learning design and program facilitation Ian works with a range of strategic partners to offer emotional intelligence assessment and development solutions.

Ian has experience across multiple industry sectors and has worked in organizational development roles in Defence (UK Royal Air Force), FMCG, Finance, Hospitality and Smelting. His consulting expertise lies in the areas of leadership development, employee engagement and team effectiveness. Ian has a background in education having completed a Masters Degree in Education at the University of Bath. Ian is the Master Trainer for the Genos Emotional Intelligence Certification Program and facilitates a series of other specialist programs for Genos across their suite of assessment and development products.

Emma and her team shape the way businesses’ think, act, and plan—helping them to better understand their brand, market, customer, and technology in order to accelerate transformation, drive sustainable growth and foster long-term advocacy.

She has spent most of her career in retail and has a strong track record, winning multiple industry awards. Natalie McLean

Chief Retail Officer - Cotton On Group

Natalie’s passion for people and clothing has driven a long, professional career in retail.

Natalie first joined the Cotton On Group in 1991 where she spent eight years with the business before taking up the roles of Product Manager Giordano International and Retail General Manager at Rip Curl, which saw her work across markets globally.
Natalie returned to the Cotton On Group in early 2013 taking up the position of General Manager for Cotton On KIDS, where she worked closely with her team to create ranges and products that were both exciting and inspiring and catered to our littlest customer.

In August-2017, Natalie was appointed as Chief Retail Officer (CRO) further cementing her commitment and longstanding career with the Cotton On Group. Within this position, Natalie will lead the Group’s new Mega Retail Operations function which will drive a single minded customer proposition across our mega brands, while delivering exceptional retail experiences our customers will love.

When not escaping for a weekend to the beautiful seaside town of Lorne on the Great Ocean Road, Natalie is following her passion for horse racing with her position as a board member with the Geelong Racing Club.

Cheryl Rae is a People and Culture Professional who believes in the power of human connection and seeks to help others be all that they can be.

She is currently the People and Culture Director at the iconic Australian & internationally expanding brand, CAMILLA. Here she has amplified the company’s ethos and values and implemented greater focus on internal staff development as well as health and wellbeing. The mother of two has forged a remarkable career through fostering positive, results-driven cultures with a focus on innovation and collaboration. Over 30 years, she has risen through the ranks of some of Australia’s most respected retailers, including Myer, Sportsgirl and Supre, her tenures at the latter two is where she cemented her reputation as someone who can orchestrate a rapid brand turnaround.

Known for her ability to redefine and reposition retail brands, Elle is regularly called upon to share her expertise and insight with audiences across Australia including Insider Retailer events, WGSN, Melbourne Fashion Week, women’s leadership panels and private mentoring sessions.

Dr Juliette Tobias-Webb

Senior Manager in Behavioural Science - Commonwealth Bank

Dr Juliette Tobias-Webb is a Senior Manager in Behavioural Science at Commonwealth Bank.
 
The team use psychology, economics and neuroscientific insights to understand and improve human decision making and behaviour.
 
Prior to joining the Bank, she completed her PhD in Psychology from the University of Cambridge and has enjoyed stints as a lecturer and research officer at globally-renowned institutions including the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, the Brain and Mind Research Institute, the University of Sydney, and Bond University, Queensland. Juliette has published a number of journal articles in leading psychology and neuroscience journals.
 
Juliette has also worked with leading government and corporate organisations such as the Behavioural Insights Team, Ogilvy Australia, and Deloitte to develop programs of work encouraging and measuring positive behaviour change.
Juliette was recently recognised as one of 40 'Inspirational Women' at CBA and one of 60 ‘Superstars of STEM’.

Mark Lulham began his recruitment career in 2011 and found it the perfect place to combine elements of his previous careers – retail, marketing, sales and private investigation. After 5 years of agency recruitment and operating his own recruitment/career consultancy business across Australia, Singapore and Malaysia, Mark joined Valiram in Australia as Talent Acquisition Manager in 2016.

Overseeing Australia and New Zealand for the Valiram suite of brands, a portfolio including over 50 Victoria’s Secret, Michael Kors, Rolex, Bath and Body Works, TUMI, Jimmy Choo and Bvlgari stores, Mark has been focused on transforming the recruitment process from transactional to experiential, with major leaps forward in 2018’s “Angel Games” recruitment events for the launch of Victoria’s Secret first full product assortment store in Australia.
