Swarovski opens new ‘crystal forest’ boutique in Sydney CBD

Crystal Drop ChandelierLuxury jewellery chain, Swarovski, has opened a new boutique in the Sydney CBD, which is the first Aussie store to feature the brand’s crystal drop chandelier.

Located at the entrance to the MidCity centre, the store is also Swarovski Australia’s first store located on Pitt St Mall, which is Australia’s highest traffic retail location, housing other international retailers such as the Microsoft concept store, Zara and Sephora.

Speaking to Inside Retail, new Aussie managing director of Swarovksi, Brett Spinks, said the new 100sqm store’s CBD location complements the existing three locations (QVB, Myer Sydney, Sydney Westfield).

This location is part of the best retail real estate in the country and we see a further upside for foot traffic for the store once the George St development is completed,” he said.

Spinks said that its Aussie operations are “growing from strength to strength”.

“We see robust growth in our retail channel both online and in our physical POPs,” he said.

“Due to this significant growth, we are delighted to be able to further meet our consumer demand by opening a number of new stores in 2017 starting with this stunning Pitt St mall location.

“Having just joined the brand two weeks ago, it’s great to see a global, family owned organisation being able to have such relevance in a local market like Australia and we can’t wait to continue the success moving forward.

The store also features store elements designed by renowned architect Tokujin Yoshioka as part of the brand’s Crystal Forest store concept.

Robert Buchbauer, member of the Swarovski Family and of the executive board said  “the store design is not only a tremendous illustration of Swarovski’s contemporary vision and taste for design” and this [Pitt St] environment is perfect for us to share our commitment to excellence, sense of creativity, surprise and delight.”
