H&M announces two more locations

h&mHennes & Mauritz AB (H&M) is continuing its foray into Queensland, today announcing it will launch stores at Stockland Townsville and Stockland Rockhampton.

Both stores are set to open later this year

The Swedish fast fashion chain, H&M, will also open its tenth NSW store at Narellan Town Centre in August. It is the second store to open in Sydney’s south-west region following the opening of H&M at Macarthur Square in November last year.

“We look forward to continuing our urban expansion and cannot wait to see the response on opening day,” said Hans Andersson, Australian country manager for H&M.

Earlier this year, H&M launched a new brand called Arket on Regent Street in London and online in 18 European countries.

The London store will be followed by stores in Brussels, Copenhagen and Munich.

According to the fast-fashion giant, the new brand will be a modern-day market, offering essential products for men, women, children and the home.

“We’re very proud to be the first to bring H&M to Northern and Central Queensland. H&M will complement our retail offer at Townsville and Rockhampton, with an exciting array of apparel and accessories at affordable prices,” said John Schroder, group executive and CEO commercial property.

“Securing H&M at these centres is a great example of how we’re investing in new shopping opportunities and experiences that lift the calibre and quality of our retail portfolio.

“We completed redevelopments at both Stockland Townsville, with our co-owner AMP Capital, and Stockland Rockhampton in recent years and we’ll continue to draw the biggest and best brands to  maintain our lead as the number one shopping destination in both cities.”

H&M has 21 stores now open across Australia and over 5000 stores in 66 countries worldwide.
