Cotton On commits to US with new HQ
The 18,000sqft space offers 360-degree views of LA and close to Glendale Galleria shopping centre, where the Group’s Cotton On and Cotton On Kids brands are located – which the company said kept the teams in touch with the retail landscape.
The new HQ features a large concept kitchen area called The Common, a nod to the cafe based at the global headquarters in Geelong, Australia; a 20-seat boardroom and USA-themed meeting rooms; changing rooms and showers to encourage physical activity throughout the day, with a gym next door, plus quiet spaces designed to allow team members to sit, reflect and relax.
“We took great consideration in designing each space throughout the new office,” said Mark Pan, US country manager, Cotton On Group.
“We wanted the space to reflect the values and culture of the group and create a productive, collaborative environment which inspires our team.”
In April, Cotton On CEO Peter Johnson told Inside Retail that over the last five years, Cotton On has built what the company identied as ‘regional hubs’ in Los Angeles in the US, Johannesburg in South Africa, Singapore in Asia, Auckland in New Zealand and Sao Paulo in Brazil.
“We’re building that local knowledge with the model being that we protect the brand,” he said. “To some degree, we’ve localised while remaining a global model, taking the insight from the local team to apply to our overall terrain.”
The fashion chain also recently opened the first of its new concept stores in the Middle East at Mirdif City Centre in Dubai.
The new 627 square metre space has opened with Dubai’s summer in full swing, with wrap dresses, jumpsuits and off shoulder tops for girls and printed tees, board shorts and snapbacks for guys offered through the fashion group’s stable of brands [Cotton On, Cotton On BODY, and Rubi Shoes ] housed in the one space.
