Julie

With the big supermarkets coming onboard with the #banthebag campaign and state governments across the country considering legislation to curb container and bag waste, sustainable retail practices are gaining momentum.

But the world of environmentally friendly retail isn’t straight forward, and getting things right while also meeting increasingly steep customer expectations is a journey in itself for businesses.

Inside Retail sat down with Julie Mathers, founder of Flora & Fauna, an online retail business that’s won awards for being eco-friendly.

Mathers has recently launched a product recycling initiative where she provides customers with a financial incentive to return their empty containers for recycling.

Listen as she provides advice for retailers looking to implement sustainable initiatives, and explains how she made what has traditionally been a one-way street for products into a reciprocal relationship with customers.
