John Winning will take responsibility for Winning Appliances

There’s been a raft of leadership changes at Winning Group, with Winning Appliances CEO David Woollcott leaving the business and the return of veterans to the fold.

John Winning, CEO of Winning Group, yesterday announced the changes as part of the Group’s strategy roadmap.

“After reviewing the structure of the Winning Group leadership team to be able to deliver the strategy and as part of my role as Group CEO, I am excited to announce that I will now be taking responsibility for the leadership and strategy of Winning Appliances. As such, the Winning Appliances CEO role is no longer required moving forward and accordingly David Woollcott will be leaving the business,” he said.

“During his two years at the Winning Group, David made a number of significant contributions to the business, including leading the team who successfully delivered the opening of our Kingston and Fortitude Valley stores.”

The role will not be replaced, with Sam Zalin to continue in his role as head of buying and marketing, reporting to Winning.

The leadership changes include the appointment of two new roles to the business, with Jo Devery in the position of Winning Group chief operating officer and John Murphy in the interim position of Winning Appliances national stores lead.

Devery previously worked at the Winning Group for over three years as chief buying and merchandise officer and was most recently general manager at Lux Group. Devery will support the company’s daily operations and holding executive accountability for the Home Clearance, Handy Crew, Winning Appliances Commercial and Appliances Online Commercial business units.

In his interim position, Murphy will assit in running the company’s stores across New South Wales, Queensland and Western Austrlalia, before moving into another strategtic position within the business.
