GPT launches delivery service at Melbourne Central

MELBOURNE_CENTRAL_RETAIL_RUNNERLandlord GPT Group has today launched a shopping home delivery service at Melbourne Central that will enable customers to have their shopping sent home for them.

Named Retail Runner, the program is being trialled before GPT considers rolling out the service more widely through its portfolio in the new year. Consumers can have gifts wrapped during December with part of the proceeds from delivery going to STREAT, who provide supported programs for homeless and disengaged youth including pathways to long term employment.

GPT are touting the service as an Australian first, having designed the offer after receiving feedback from its urban assets that there was a role to play for landlords in delivery services.

Shoppers will be provided with satchels which they can fill with up to 25kgs of goods per delivery within a 20km radius of the centre.

GPT’s head of digital and marketing Sidone Thomas said that the program will synergise well with existing click and collect services.

“It’s all about the consumers being able to use services when it meets their needs,” she said.

“Our role as a landlord is to understand our consumer the best way that we can and to help facilitate that relationship with our retailers.”

The service is being launched alongside Melbourne the Shop the City Christmas event and will provide customers taking advantage of the deals with free delivery on deliveries worth over $50 dollars.

Customers will be charged a flat fee of $10.95 for deliveries within 10 km.
