Retailer Country Road’s purchase of the Witchery and Mimco businesses in 2012 has provided a significant boost to the company’s full year sales and profit.
Country Road made a profit of $41 million in the year to June 30, up from $16 million in the previous year, as sales rose by 69 per cent to $706 million.
The retail market remains highly competitive and consumer confidence is subdued, Country Road said.
But it expects further profit growth in the 2013/14 financial year, with trading in the first two months meeting expectations.
