Asos has made two key appointments within its Australian team, including the appointment of a new country manager, as the online fashion retailer names as Australia as one of its “most strategically important international markets”.

Asos has appointed Jo Shapland, formerly Asos Australia’s senior marketing manager, as its new country manager.

Shapland has been with Asos for the past 15 months as senior marketing manager where she led the execution of launches including Vogue Fashion Night Out’s ASOS Wedding Chapel; ASOS Australia’s first Student Ambassador Program, #thehundredproject; and a relaunch of Premier to include free returns.

Shapland’s previous experience includes senior strategic marketing roles at Woolworths Australia, Everything Everywhere UK, and Heinz Wattie’s NZ.

Asos Australia has also appointed Jerico Mandybur as a new senior editor to its local editorial team.

Mandybur comes to Asos Australia from her role as online editor and contributing print editor at Oyster Magazine.

“Australia continues to be one of Asos’ most strategically important international markets and we’re excited to see the brand continue to grow with a new leadership team to support it,” Shaun McCabe, Asos international director, said.
