Athlete’s Foot steps up

 

athletesfootRCG Corporation, owner of The Athlete’s Foot Australia, has reported another record full year profit for the year ended June 29, 2014.

The company, which is also a wholesaler of brands including Saucony, Merrell, Cushe, and CAT, recorded a net profit rise of 11.2 per cent to $11.8 million.

The Athlete’s Foot (TAF) recorded like for like sales growth of 2.7 per cent for the year ended 29 June 2014. Total group sales for the chain grew three per cent to $210.7 million.

“Given the exceptionally challenging environment that The Athlete’s Foot has operated in, we are pleased with the results. TAF has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to thrive during tough market conditions,” Hilton Brett, CEO of RCG Corporation, said.

“The business’s uncompromising focus on service and the customer experience provides it with a clearly differentiated and defensible market position that sets it apart from all other market participants. As a consequence, it has been able to maintain its position as a premium retailer and the stores have maintained their gross profit margins even during a time of unprecedented price driven activity in its sector.”

During FY14, the business has delivered a number of key projects including the rollout of retail fitting technology, Fitzi; the completion of the rollout of Erply, TAF’s new POS and retail management system; the launch of the chain’s ‘Partnership Program’ with six partnership stores now operational; and the continued advancement of, and investment in, the digital space by delivering a fully integrated cross channel experience.

The business has also just announced that it has acquired an exclusive distribution licence for footwear brand, Instride.
