Aussie Farmers Direct partners with Daily Fresh

Assorted Fruits Vegetables, foodOnline grocery retailer, Aussie Farmers Direct, has entered into a deal with Daily Fresh Food Service that allows Daily Fresh customers to include fresh fruit and vegetables in their order.

Aussie Farmers Direct will pick the fruit and vegetable orders at its Rosehill depot, and send them across to Daily Fresh’s Regents Park warehouse to be consolidated into a single customer order.

Daily Fresh Food Service is a food services businesses that currently offers customers over 5000 food lines, including dry goods, frozen goods, small goods, meat, poultry, dairy, seafood, packaging and cleaning products.

Daily Fresh Food Service managing director, Manuel Meletis, said the deal with Aussie Farmers Direct provides the “missing link” for Daily Fresh’s customers.

“This is a product range we’ve not been able to offer before, and it gives us a great advantage in the market and at the same time provides our customers with the convenience of a one stop shop for all their food needs in one delivery,” Meletis said.

Aussie Farmers Direct CEO, Keith Louie, said moving into wholesale partnerships was a natural extension of the retailer’s national fresh produce supply chain capability.

“In the food industry, fresh produce is probably the hardest thing to do well,” Louie said. “Over 10 years, we’ve developed a sophisticated fresh produce supply chain, along with a skilled team of buyers. These are attractive assets for food wholesalers looking to add fresh fruit and vegetables to their existing product range.”

The Daily Fresh Food Service and Aussie Farmers Direct partnership comes into effect starting May 2.
