Aussie retailer signs US deal

Cargo Crew 4Staff uniform retailer, Cargo Crew, has signed a deal to outfit world-renowned restaurateur Claus Meyer’s brand new 5000sqft eatery, Great Northern Food Hall in Grand Central Terminal New York.

The deal represents the largest venture into the USA for the Aussie e-commerce uniform retailer.

Famous for co-founding and co-owning the two Michelin star restaurant Noma in Denmark, the Great Northern Food Hall is Claus Meyers’ first U.S. venture.

“We are building a brand that crews around the world are pleased to wear,” said Felicity Rogers, founder, Cargo Crew. “We have focused our energy on creating original, design led products that work to enhance and compliment a business’ visual identity and language – we call it the modern uniform.”

Founded by former fashion designer Rodgers in 2002, Cargo Crew now exports to over 30 countries.

“When Meyer’s team first contacted us it was a momentous occasion for Cargo Crew,” said Rogers. “Once it was confirmed that we’d been selected to outfit the landmark dining concept, located in Grand Central no less, we felt truly honoured. To be part of this handpicked group is testament that our offering is unique and has global appeal.”

The apparel brand said the business continues to grow both in Australia and internationally and has firm plans for continual expansion.

The past 12 months has seen Cargo Crew win the 2015 Telstra Small Business Award for Australia. The business operates from inner city Melbourne, at its Brunswick East HQ.
