Australian childrenswear label plans expansion

Tutu Du MondeVintage inspired Australian childrenswear label, Tutu Du Monde, has announced plans to expand online and through international stockists.

The label, founded in 2009 by Andrea Rembeck, reported it is experiencing significant growth, currently at 14 per cent for FY 16/17 and will be dropping new collections to a number of new key international accounts, most notably Liberty London and Farfetch, by the end of this month.

Tutu Du Monde, which is stocked in 116 international boutiques including Canada, China, Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Russian Federation, Taiwan, UAE, UK and the US with 52 domestic stockists, stated in the last year it has sold over 10,000 tutu dresses, utilising approximately 75,000 meters of tulle, and 80,000 hours of hand beading – with all production still occurring in workshop which employs local women, based in a village on the outskirts of Delhi.

According to Tutu Du Monde, it is passionate about producing garments that are ecologically sustainable and still exquisitely made.

Tutu Du Monde has recently launched its new season collection, The Secret Garden, which, according to Rembeck, was inspired by fantasy tales of escapes to secret worlds through a portal, mirror or hidden door.
