The Australian dollar has fallen following reports the United States is poised to publish a list of new tariffs of around US$200 billion that will be applied on Chinese imports that would enter the country.

The Australian dollar was worth 74.59 US cents at 0820 AEST, slipping from 74.64 on Tuesday.
