The Australian dollar was slightly higher against its US counterpart on Tuesday.

The dollar was worth 73.86 US cents at 0825 AEST, slightly up from 73.79 on Tuesday.

One Australian dollar buys 81.68 Japanese yen, from 81.92; 63.36 euro cents, from 63.36; 55.98 British pence, from 56.12 and 109.34 NZ cents, from 109.89.
