Australian dollar rises

The Australian dollar has risen Tuesday and was trading at 71.36 US cents, up from 71.12 US cents yesterday.

One Australian dollar buys 79.83 Japanese yen, from 79.75 ; 61.61 euro cents, from 61.57 ; 54.25 British pence, from 54.28 and 108.62 NZ cents, from 109.24.
