The Australian dollar has fallen against its US counterpart Wednesday and is buying 71.17 US cents from 71.23 US cents on Tuesday.

One Australian dollar buys 79.44 Japanese yen, from 79.39 ; 61.35 euro cents, from 61.28 ; 54.69 British pence, from 54.56 ; 109.13 NZ cents, from 108.94.
