The Australian dollar has risen to 74.22 US cents at 0900 AEST, up from 74.03 US cents on Friday.

One Australian dollar buys 83.34 Japanese yen, from 83.37 , 63.56 euro cents, from 63.59 , 56.08 British pence, from 56.27 and 109.52 NZ cents, from 109.58.
