Australia’s newest condom brand delivers big

Moments Condoms, the flagship brand of Coral Healthcare, capped off an incredible partnership with the 2019 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival (SGLMG) by donating and supplying more than 68,000 condoms at the event in February and March.

The hot new Australian condom brand made a big splash throughout the event as a Supporting Partner and the Official Condom Provider of this year’s SGLMG, among the most beloved and recognised LGBTQI celebrations around the world.

Not only was the Moments Team unmissable with its vibrant presence at the Pool Party and throughout the Mardi Gras parade, but they also donated almost 70,000 condoms at events across the festival, including Fair Day where the condom brand’s human Glitter Globe was the star of the ball – people could jump in and enjoy the flying glitter and take photographs to make some memorable ‘moments’, alongside glitter make-up booths where attendees could dress up in the Mardi Gras spirit.

Product sampling happened throughout all of the events at Mardi Gras and the brand partnered with ACON to increase that exposure, with more than 14,000 packs being handed-out across the two-week festival. Condoms were also placed in every bathroom and exit at the Mardi Gras After Party, the Bear Bar, the Imperial Hotel, Palms and Universal.

Supplying this vast number of condoms at a major high-profile event was no mean feat but one that the company took in its youthful stride. “The opportunity for our brand to really impact attendees and leave a lasting impression is something the Moments Condoms team worked hard to prepare for, and it showed on execution,” said Nikhil Daftary, Coral Healthcare CEO.

For the “new kid on the block” to make an impact, Moments needed to do something different and think outside the box. So, they came up with exclusively-designed packaging for the event containing one ultra-thin, extra-lubricated condom plus one sachet of water-based lubricant – something that had never been done before. To ensure that the samples were widely distributed at the festival, they had a large number of people in place at all SGLMG events, and greater numbers of staff present during Fair Day.

Production was based on past numbers, while the brand was confident that its product would be popular based on the planned activation for the Fair Day. To get big crowd numbers during this particular event, the brand engaged Ivy League, a famous drag queen better known for saving a man from getting bashed up, and one who made the day’s condom sampling about the message and branding, making it extremely fun and engaging.

The event was another huge achievement by the up-and-coming Sydney-based brand taking the Australian healthcare industry by storm. As well as its support for this iconic celebration of Australia’s LQBTQI community, the company is also supporting the McGrath Foundation, International Aids Society, Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation, Women’s Health and Wellbeing Barwon South West, and Build Your Sexual Intelligence – all partnerships that, along with the SGLMG tie-up, are ones that the brand happily holds dear.

“At the core of Moments Condoms’ support is the desire of the team to empower all Australians to protect their sexual health and to make informed decisions surrounding it,” says Daftary. “Our team identifies with the warm message of embrace and inclusion for all people in Australia and around the world that the SGLMG has shown each and every year without fail.”

In 2019, Moments Condoms are celebrating and toasting the hard work of all festival organisers and sponsors, alongside the participants, attendees and all those in the wider community who make the SGLMG a success. They look forward to celebrating sexuality and sexual health, while continuing to support important and inspirational events like the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade and Festival, in the years to come.
