Ben & Jerry’s launches franchising
Ben & Jerry’s will open its first franchised Australian store on Thursday, a major step in its expansion program Down Under.
The inaugural store will open in Chatswood, on Sydney’s north shore, in The Concourse on Victoria Ave.
Chatswood marks the US brand’s seventh Australian store – the initial six company owned outlets in Manly, Hoyts Broadway (Sydney), Hoyts Penrith, Hoyts Highpoint and Hoyts Chadstone in Melbourne and Warner Bros Movie World Gold Coast Scoop Shop.
To mark the Chatswood opening, Ben & Jerry’s will host a ‘scoop-a-thon’ from noon until 8pm offering free ice cream for all. The Scoop-a-thon has become a popular company tradition whenever a new scoop store opens its doors, acting as both a celebration of the launch and a positive introduction to the local community.
“Chatswood is an important first step of our franchise strategy and we’re looking forward to increasing our footprint in this area as we enter our third year Down Under,” said Johnny Hammond, Ben & Jerry’s brand manager.
“We’re excited to work with an enthusiastic franchisee who understands Ben & Jerry’s brand values and is committed to making the scoop shop a real success.”
