Dymocks national buying manager Sophie Higgins said the previous record was held by JK Rowling’s adult fiction title A Casual Vacancy, released in 2012.

“Go Set a Watchman has set a record for fastest-selling adult fiction of the last five years, beating JK Rowling, Dan Brown and George RR Martin in the first two days of sales. Staff across the Dymocks network have been busy replenishing stock to meet customer demand,” Higgins said.

Go Set a Watchman is Harper Lee’s second novel, published 55 years after her first book, To Kill a Mockingbird.
