Coles opens digital doors

ColesColes has become the first Australian supermarket chain to partner with Google Business Photos.

Google Business Photos enables companies to publish panoramic photos of business interiors on Google Maps. Through Business Photos, customers can walk around, explore, and interact with businesses through the latest in digital imagery.

The chain’s newly refurbished store in Sydney’s Broadway shopping centre is the first Coles supermarket to open its digital doors, allowing customers to take a 360-degree virtual tour.

“Closely following the store’s relaunch, we have opened the digital doors of Coles Broadway,” Simon McDowell, marketing and store development director of Coles, said.

“Coles Broadway is a demonstration of some of the most innovative retail features in the country and what better way to showcase this than through Google Business Photos.

“By visiting Google Maps, visitors can virtually step into the future of Coles stores and click through a typical customer journey at Coles Broadway. It also allows our Broadway customers to plan and prepare for their grocery shop with a level of detail, never before made possible,” McDowell said.

“We are committed to creating unique and engaging store experiences for our customers and are open to the incredible possibilities and creative potential of virtual retail environments.”
