Coles partners with Red Cross

ColesCustomers of supermarket giant, Coles, will be able to help communities affected by the Western Australia bushfires by making a donation to support Red Cross disaster relief and recovery work at any Coles supermarket within the state.

The donations, which can be made upon request at WA checkouts, will help the Red Cross provide practical and emotional support to people affected, including those in evacuation centres.

The supermarket chain, which has more than 90 supermarkets across Western Australia, has already kickstarted the donations by contributing $25,000, adding a financial commitment to the support already being provided on the ground.

“I am so proud of our local team which responded quickly and has been working with emergency services to donate much-needed supplies including food, water and other essential provisions to emergency services and people displaced by the fires,” Neil Lake, state GM, Coles, said.

“Communities in the South West have banded together to support their friends and neighbours impacted by the fires and our team is working with many local organisations to help get supplies to where they are most needed.

“Customers have also been very quick to offer their help, so we’re making it easy for them by allowing them to donate to support Red Cross disaster relief and recovery work at any checkout in Western Australia.”
