D&G to set up shop down under

Luxury retailer Dolce & Gabbana has confirmed it will open its first Australian store in Melbourne later this year.

The Italian fashion house will open a 350sqm site on the ground floor in the heritage listed Mayfair Building on 171 Collins St , which is currently undergoing a $280 million redevelopment by Charter Hall and Cbus Property.

Around 2,000sqm of the 30,000sqm development will be dedicated to retail, with Dolce & Gabbana the only fashion retailer.

The flagship, which is expected to open from June, will join the likes of other luxury brands on Collins St including Chanel, Prada, Hermes, Cartier, and Gucci.
