David Jones welcomes iconic Londoner Liberty

liberty london bags 1British department store, Liberty, have launched a standalone accessories label at David Jones flagship stores across the country.

David Jones flagships will feature ‘Liberty London,’ a collection launched in 2013 and conceived as a standalone premium fashion brand to compliment the international labels stocked at Liberty. The 16-piece ‘Continuity’ collection, featuring a range of handbags, wallets and scarves, will be made available in store and online.

The first Liberty London store was opened on Regent Street in 1875 and has since been known for its furniture, jewellery, silk fabrics and art objects sourced globally.

Liberty head of design, James Millar, said the collection takes inspiration from the first 40 years of Liberty’s history; a period when it was ‘famed for its Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau designs.’

Since its launch, Liberty said the ‘London’ label has expanded the department stores audience, appealing to a younger design conscious consumer. The brand is now sold internationally at fashion retailers such as Neiman Marcus and David Jones.
