Ballarat locals, the Troon family, have opened the doors to a new sub-regional shopping centre, Delacombe Town Centre last week.
The centre is already home to 14 new retailers, including one of the largest Woolworths supermarkets in Victoria at 4,200sqm, a Kmart (5,700sqm) and a boutique digital Showbiz Cinemas with six screens.
“Our retail project leasing team has spent two years advising the client on the master planning for the site and creating a best-in-class marketing and leasing campaign, which generated more than 500 enquiries, with the majority of tenancies either leased or in final negotiations,” said Colliers International’s Bernie Canning, who along with Mike Crittenden and Daniel Ryan acted as sole project leasing agents for the centre, which is located at the corner of Cherry Flat Road and Glenelg Highway.
“DTC will provide the western Ballarat fringe with a state-of-the-art shopping centre that adds quality and convenient amenities, including fresh food, a pharmacy, hair and beauty salons and retail fashion stores. Cafes, fast food and other dining options also cater to the needs of the local community.”
The Butcher Club, Chill Espresso Cafe, Noodle House, Toyland, Dr Boom Communications, Delacombe Family Dental, Just Cuts, Cutie Nails, Vin’s Massage, Che Modea Fashion and Smokemart & GiftBox have also already opened.
A Direct Chemist Outlet, The Groove Train, Akita Sushi, Tatts, Wendy’s, Kaisercraft, DTC Fruit and Vegetables, Rosenhart Bakery, Smart Dollar, medical centre and laundromat are all coming soon.
“The response to the marketing and leasing campaign has been incredible and it really has vindicated the owners’ investment in the western growth corridor of Ballarat,” Canning said. “Not only that, DTC will provide 250 retail and service and jobs to the local community.”
