Ex-Seek, Yahoo exec joins Super Retail Group

Rebel sportEx-Seek and Yahoo executive Peter Everingham has been appointed as a non-executive director at Super Retail Group (SRG).

Everingham holds over 25 years’ corporate experience, including 18 years in senior executive roles in the digital sector experiencing and initiating disruption.

“Peter’s extensive executive experience leading digital businesses, and in strategy and corporate development, makes him a valuable and complementary addition to the Super Retail Group Board,” said SRG’s chair, Dr Sally Pitkin.

He is the former managing director of SEEK Limited’s International Division, including being the former chairman of the China business, Zhaopin Limited, and director of the education businesses, IDP Education, Online Education Services and THINK Education.

He is a former director of Strategy for Yahoo! in Australia and Southeast Asia.

Everingham is a non-Executive Director of iCar Asia, an ASEAN network of digital automotive portals, and WWF-Australia, Australia’s largest conservation organisation.

In August, SRG’s CEO Peter Birtles said he believes the group – which owns retail chains including Rebel Sport, Supercheap Auto and Rays Outdoors – is positioned well to succeed in FY18, as management looks towards incremental improvement in its strong-performing operations and broader investment in the leisure business.
