The Australian dollar has risen over the long weekend, landing at 71.61 US cents compared to the 70.92 US cents seen on Friday.
The local currency currently purchases $1.04 NZ dollars, as well as 4.827 Chinese Yuan; 78.21 Japanese Yen; 54.42 British Pounds; and 62.63 Euros.
