My Food Bag appoints chairman

myfoodbagKevin Roberts, executive chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, has been appointed chairman of New Zealand-based home delivery service, My Food Bag, as the company plans to expand its offering in New Zealand and Australia.

Roberts was CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide from 1997 to 2014 and has previously held executive positions with brands including PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, and Australasian brewer, Lion Nathan.

My Food Bag launched in Auckland, New Zealand in 2013 and now has more than 13,000 customers.

The grocery service which delivers weekly recipes and ingredients to customers has also launched in Sydney and Melbourne as the company begins to expand in Australia.

My Food Bag has delivered a NZ$50 million revenue run rate within two years and is the brainchild of Cecilia Robinson, Nadia Lim, and Theresa Gattung.

“Kevin’s acumen in global business, brand building, and the food industry itself bring a formidable leadership gear as we go to the next level in this fast expanding category.”

Roberts, who has also become an investor in My Food Bag, provides regular counsel to many of the world’s biggest food companies and presently advises family-owned Booth’s supermarket chain in the north of England.

Roberts said he will be working with the company to strengthen its offering throughout New Zealand and Australia.
