G-Star to take over Australian stores

Gstar, denim, fashionG-Star Raw, whose stores were previously operated by Denim Enterprises in a franchise partnership, has proceeded to take over 15 of the existing stores.

This follows Denim Enterprises sudden collapse into voluntary administration in February.

Denim Enterprises was founded by directors, Nick and Candice Hirons in 1996, who were previously stockists of the brand in their own Melbourne denim boutique, D.inc.

The first D.inc stored opened on Little Collins St in 1996, followed by a second store in Prahran in 2001.

The first standalone G-Star store operated by Denim Enterprises opened in 2003 at Melbourne Central.

Stefano di Martino, president geographies and sales for G-Star Raw, said G-Star and Australia have a special history together.

“Australia was one of the first international markets to embrace the brand. We have a strong and long relationship with the Australian consumer and we intend to continue to offer them great jeans.

“With a local Australian-based G-Star team, we will invest in the best stores in key retail locations as well as in our current multi-brand partners who have passionately sustained our brand in the Australian market already for many years”.
