Greensborough Plaza to extend fresh food precinct

Greensborough_2Greensborough Plaza in Melbourne will launch an extension to its fresh food precinct in mid-August, which represents the third project as part of its $30m asset repositioning strategy.

The new precinct will include a mix of fresh food shops and cafes, along with health and beauty retailers.

The centre’s three developments which includes the children’s precinct, the urban style casual dining precinct, and now the fresh food precinct, totals $30 million.

The opening of Greensborough Plaza’s brand new fresh food market is part of an asset repositioning strategy that brings fresh food, beauty and service retailers together.

The suburban shopping centre’s transformation commenced in 2015 with a new children’s precinct, now known as Kids on the Green. This precinct offers a mix of children’s retailers, including Toyworld and Riot Art & Craft. Kids on the Green also features a modern indoor play area for children.

December 2016 saw the launch of the centre’s second major redevelopment, an urban style casual dining precinct called Tables on the Green.

The new The Village Green has a fresh food focus as well as cafes, health and beauty, and service style retailers. It will also see the relocation of existing fresh food retailer, Sculli Brothers, which will move into the former JB Hi-Fi tenancy. Other major tenancy additions to The Village Green include Chemist Warehouse, Boost Juice, Hairhouse Warehouse, Rainbow Nails, Max Therapy, Seoul Kitchen, Bargain Express, Pacific Smiles and Nuyu Beauty Bar.

Isaac Tait, centre manager of Greensborough Plaza, said they have adjusted their retail mix in line with growing consumer demands by creating a village-style fresh food precinct where shoppers can gather fresh food inspiration and experience a market-like atmosphere close to home.

“The demand for healthy whole food options has increased over the past 3 years with many of our local shoppers looking for healthy fresh food choices for their families, whether eating out or cooking at home,” he said.
