Harris Scarfe hones in on prime market

Harris Scarfe Pepkor-owned Harris Scarfe is opening its latest department store at Caneland Central shopping centre in Mackay this Thursday.

The store will be number 62 for the retailer nationally, and will occupy over 2000 square metres of floor space in the largest shopping centre in the Mackay region. The store will be led by store manager Vicki Heck.

“We have received a lot of excitement ahead of this opening, and this is a great chance for us to showcase our brands and products to the community of Mackay,” said Graham Dean, CEO, Harris Scarfe. “We continue to engage with and develop the shopping experience for our customers, and we are excited to now be on that journey with the community in Mackay.”

Dean also said that Queensland had always been an important market for the brand.

The store marks the department store retailer’s seventh Queensland location, with a sixth recently opened at Rockhampton.

“Harris Scarfe will further enhance the centre’s existing retail offer and we welcome this strong national retailer to Mackay’s premier shopping destination,” said Simon De Barro, Caneland Central Centre Manager.

The new store will present a bright open space, wide aisles and feature Harris Scarfe’s wayfinding system, with specifically designed signage and product information hotspots to create an easier shopping experience for customers. It will stock over 50 well known international and national brands including Scanpan, Tefal, Breville, Sunbeam, Sheridan, Tontine, Soren, Linen House, Bonds, Berlei, Triumph, Hush Puppies, Van Heusen, Tosca and Simply Vera by Vera Wang.
