Harrolds hires former Liberty UK GM

HarroldsFashion retailer, Harrolds has appointed Lee whittle to the company’s newly created role of retail operations director.

The luxury department store, soon to celebrate its 30-year anniversary, said Whittle’s appointment would bring “fresh perspective to the family-run business”.

“Seeking to grow the business beyond its current heights, directors, Mary and Ross Poulakis realised that an executive appointment would be necessary to achieve desired results,” a Harrolds spokesperson said.

Whittle formerly worked as general manager for Liberty in the UK and management roles at Harrods.

In the newly created role, the company spokesperson said, Whittle will oversee the state managers and “ensure Harrolds recruitment and training program is robust, ultimately assisting with the company’s financial objectives”. Whittle will work with Harrolds’ state managers to develop recruitment programs and implement training programs to coach staff.
