Joseph Romeo, owner of IGA Romeo’s Food Hall, said he was proud to be able to introduce the new concept store to city commuters and residents.

“This is the next step in retailing for the Romeo Group. It has been designed with choice and convenience at its core. Whether shoppers are looking for quality take home meals, everyday grocery lines, health foods, beauty items or fresh produce, we guarantee high quality at competitive prices,” he said.

The new store, accessible from Martin Place Station, is designed with busy city office workers in mind, offering an extensive line of take home meals, produce, bakery products, premium meats, a large cheese bar, Lindt chocolate pick and mix wall and a range of health and beauty products.

IGA Romeo’s Food Hall will also have a corporate catering offering from their fine food range. It will open seven days a week, from 6am to 10pm.

Ian Morrice, group chief executive of Metcash said, he was delighted to be able to support independent retailers such as the Romeo’s.

“This new store demonstrates the flexibility of the independents and their ability to tailor stores ensuring they provide what local communities want. As Australia’s leading wholesaler and owner of the IGA brand, we are working hard with retailers across Australia to ensure they are innovative, flexible and provide product at competitive prices.”
