Kathmandu CEO named

KathmanduXavier Simonet has been appointed CEO of Kathmandu.

Simonet is currently CEO of London retail brand, Radley, which sells women’s handbags, luggage, and accessories.

He will take up the role after working out his notice period with Radley. He said the potential for further growth at Kathmandu is strong, particularly internationally.

Prior to joining Radley, he was vice president and GM international for apparel and underwear group, DB Apparel, and has also served as international director of Australian swimwear retailer and manufacturer, Seafolly.

He began his career with LVHM where he worked for 11 years in France, Scandinavia, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, and the UK.

Kathmandu chairman, David Kirk, said the business had undertaken a comprehensive international search to fill the role.

“Xavier has wide experience in retailing and brand development in Australia and many international markets. He has a proven track record building brands and developing successful retail businesses in fashion, apparel,, accessories, and related products,” said Kirk.

“Xavier and his family are Australian citizens and are very much looking forward to returning to live and work in Australia.”
