Kathmandu trades for new

KathmanduAdventure retailer, Kathmandu, has partnered with the Australian Red Cross in an initiative poised to reduce the amount of clothing that ends up in landfill, while also providing resources to the charity.

The Trade For New initiative will see Kathmandu stores across the country encouraging customers to bring in their old adventure-wear items, and trade them in for something new at a 10 per cent discount.

The used items will then be donated to the Red Cross in a bid to further Kathmandu’s commitment to encouraging a sustainable mindset amongst all travellers.

“At Kathmandu we are dedicated to encouraging all Australians to tread lightly, and tread with purpose, in everything they do,” said Lindsay Tallot, community co-ordinator, Kathmandu.

“Trade For New brings both goals together, and allows us to really champion the great work done by Red Cross, both here in Australia and overseas.”

Donations can be made at any Kathmandu store nationally until November 1.
