An elderly woman is in a serious condition in hospital after two cars crashed into a Sydney KFC outlet.
Emergency services worked for half-an-hour to free the woman who suffered head injuries, an ambulance spokeswoman told AAP.
She was taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious condition.
Three others involved in the Thursday afternoon crash – at Lindfield in the city’s north – weren’t injured.
Two lanes of the Pacific Highway are closed as emergency services clean the site.
No one inside the outlet was hurt and the building suffered only “superficial damage”, a NSW Fire and Rescue spokesman said.
