Levi’s opens largest Aussie flagship at Rundle Mall

levisClothing company, Levi’s, has opened its largest Australian store in Adelaide’s Rundle Mall last week.

Set over 280sqm, the store will stock the jeans specialist’s full range and also feature a multi-use zone that can be converted for instore events including live music sessions.

A Levi’s spokesperson told Inside Retail that Rundle Mall was an easy choice to launch its largest Aussie store.

“Adelaide has always been a town close to our heart,” said the spokesperson. “It is where the Levi’s Australian story has stemmed from, and it is because of this long standing history that this is perhaps one of our most exciting store launches to date. Rundle Mall is one of the most iconic locations within Adelaide, so it was the perfect choice.”

The Australian story of Levi’s started in the 70s with a purpose built facility in Elizabeth in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

“Our core values of empathy, integrity, originality and courage created a strong community spirit, which has seen local families and generations become a part of the Australian Levi’s team,” said the spokesperson.

“Here at Elizabeth our longest serving employee has recently completed 40 years and the average length of service per employee is in excess of 25 years. It’s because of this long established history and familiarity with the brand we expect the store to be well received by the Adelaide community.”

The clothing retailer said that it was in the process of ‘reinventing what it means to wear blue jeans,’ 140 years after the company invented the blue jean in San Francisco in 1873.

“So we have an exciting future ahead of us, with further expansion on the horizon,” said the spokesperson.
