LFRA announces new president

LFRAAThe Large Format Retail Association (LFRA) has elected Zac Fried as its new president, taking over from 14-year incumbent Ian Robinson, Beacon Lighting’s executive chairman.

Previously the lobby group’s vice president, Fried said he is more than ready to continue the “enormous legacy” Robinson left behind.

Fried is a joint owner and executive deputy chairman of the Spotlight Group of Companies which has a stable of well-known Australian brands including Spotlight, Anaconda and SPG Investments.

The LFRA, which was established in 1999, is the peak national body which supports the appropriate planning and development of Australia’s Large Format Retail market. Its membership base includes large format retailers as well as investors, owners, developers and services suppliers in the large format retail market.

In 2015, the Large Format Retail sector generated $65 billion in sales across Australia or more than $1 out of every $5 in retail transactions in the country.
