Mumgo’s new direction

mumgoDaily deals website, Mumgo.com.au, has set its sights on new markets this year following the appointment of new GM, Guy Polak.

Part of the Catch Group, Mumgo, a lifestyle website aimed at mums, launched in July last year. Previously concentrating on the just the baby market, Mumgo has since expanded its direction towards babies and toddlers through to tweens.

The site will be introducing new categories as well as escalating strong performing categories such as kid’s footwear and apparel, toys, baby goods, and educational products.

Polak takes the helm of Mumgo.com.au as its new GM following an internal move from sister brand, Scoopon.com, and already has a clear vision on the future direction of the site.

“We wanted to be able to cater for mums beyond newborns so they can still be a part of the Mumgo community as their kids grow,” Polak said.

Polak has more than 20 years of experience in retail, he has worked his way up from sales to wholesale and buying before joining the Catch group.

He worked on the launch of Scoopon in September 2010 and soon progressed within the company to become Scoopon’s head of product.

“As well as our expanding range, we’ll also be focusing on building our community through a larger focus on social media. 2014 is going to be a very exciting year for the Mumgo brand. Watch this space.”
