MyerDepartment store, Myer, has appointed Mark Cripsey to the newly created role of chief digital and data officer.

Cripsey has significant experience working with technology in retail environments and has specialist expertise in omnichannel retailing.

He joins Myer having previously held the position of GM of Coles Online, a key role in delivering Coles’ online retail strategy. Prior to this he spent several years at Tesco Limited, including as IT director for US grocery store chain Fresh & Easy.

“We’re excited to welcome an executive of Mark’s calibre to the leadership team. Mark’s experience in technology-driven retail transformation, and his direct experience in e-commerce and multichannel logistics will be important in helping to successfully deliver our strategy,” said Myer CEO, Richard Umbers.

Cripsey, who will commence before the end of the year, will report to the CEO and oversee IT, supply chain, online retail and customer data analytics that support the Myer One program.

Umbers also welcomed online fashion brand, Tiger Mist, into the department store, providing the brand a bricks and mortar presence.
