New Harris Scarfe leader

Harris Scarfe Graham Dean, Myer group GM home, entertainment and supply chain will join South Australian department store chain, Harris Scarfe, as CEO.

Dean succeeds Joe Barberis, and will take up the role from September.

Barberis will move to the role of commercial director, South East Asia, for Harris Scarfe owner, Pepkor.

Dean has been with Myer for 10 yeats, and prior to that, held roles in the UK with Heal’s and Habitat.

There are 51 Harris Scarfe stores, with the chain on an expansion trail, pushing into the eastern states after amassing a strong foundation in its home state.

In April 2013 Harris Scarfe opened its redeveloped flagship store in Adelaide CBD’s Rundle Place – the company’s largest and most impressive store.

South African Pepkor purchased the Harris Scarfe business in late 2012, and also owns the Best & Less and The Kids Store chains in Australia.
