newspowergo-top-rydeNewspower has opened its first new concept stores in Narellan and Top Ryde in New South Wales, with plans to open more stores in 2017.

Helen Dowling, national manager for Newspower Australia said “the focus is on every area in the store generating revenue”.

“NewspowerGo shows there is a terrific new option for business owners and shopping centres across Australia, showcasing innovative retail in addition to traditional newsagency products,” she said.

The new stores feature a contemporary fitout and lighting design along with selected suppliers and products.

Second generation newsagents, David and Anita Thomsen, launched their NewspowerGo store as part of the redevelopment of Narellan Town Centre.

Lina Geng chose to re-brand as NewspowerGo in the Top Ryde City Shopping Centre to take advantage of relocating her store as part of their major redevelopment.

“I wanted to belong to a leading national brand for recognition within the shopping centre and I was interested in the new suppliers and products – so far, so good,” she said.

NewspowerGo stores feature additional ranges of on-trend confectionary, plush toys, ink, books, gifts and accessories.

Dowling said the stores are fitted out to attract Generation X and Millennials through bold colours, instore signage, digital displays and on-trend products.

“Once those younger cohort of 20-50 year old shoppers are attracted in to newsagencies they will relish the product ranges, prices and friendly local service and we’re confident they’ll become loyal to NewspowerGo,” she said.
