Oroton profit jumps

oroton bagLuxury retail brand Oroton’s half year net profit has jumped 72.5 per cent, helped by higher prices, strong online sales and a good performance by its Gap brand.

The $3.8 million profit for the six months ending January 23 came on the back of a 12 per cent lift in revenue to $74.5 million.

The company, recovering from a challenging few years in which it heavily discounted products, in July exited the loss-making Brooks Brothers joint venture.

Oroton on Thursday declared a fully franked interim dividend of six cents, up from 4.5 cents in the previous first half.
