Preview: Inside Retail Weekly 2085
On Monday, The Co-op announced a sudden change of leadership, with incumbent CEO, Peter Knock, resigning unexpectedly due to family reasons after four instrumental years at the helm of the forward-thinking retailer. It’ll be business as usual though for The Co-op under new CEO, Thorsten Wichtendahl, who has served as Chief Operating Officer in the business since 2011. You can hear from Wichtendahl in our lead news story this week.
Elsewhere in News, we look at how Myer’s half-year results sit in Richard Umbers’ broad turnaround strategy for the retailer, and hear from Guy Russo on the roll out of Kmart’s new store format.
In Opinion this week, we look at the bitter legal dispute between Domino’s Pizza Enterprises and a Sydney IT firm, which is proving an unwelcome distraction for the ASX-listed pizza chain.
In From The Source, we sit down with ambitious Terry White Group CEO, Anthony White, and get the skinny on Terry White Chemists and the group’s 2015 acquisition of Chemplus. And in Features we cover last week’s launch of a new factory outlet centre in Sydney – which is part of a broader plan for a new multi-purpose retail precinct in southwest Sydney.
You’ll find all of this, and much more, in Inside Retail Weekly Issue 2085. Please note that IRW won’t be published next week due to the Easter long weekend. The next issue of IRW will be published on Wednesday April 6. The Inside Retail team wishes all readers and retailers a stellar Easter.
