Lovisa oLovisa, Ziera, and TS14+ have been voted by Australia as retail’s favourite employers in Retailworld Resourcing’s 2014 Retail Employer of the Year awards.

In 2011, Retailworld Resourcing established the Retail Employer of the Year award as a means of celebrating the brands that the public deemed to have forged the most desirable working environments.

This year saw a record number of votes cast across three categories.

Jewellery brand, Lovisa, won the large category for brands within excess of 1000 full time equivalents (FTE).

One voter said: “Lovisa is a dynamic, exciting company to work for. The culture supports team growth and development. The focus on continuous improvement, ‘can do’ attitudes and striving for excellence is infectious”.

Having previously won the title in 2012 TS14+ returns to the top spot for the medium category (101- 1000 FTE).

The plus size women’s clothing chain was described by a voter as “the most supportive, unique, and forward thinking company that anyone could wish to work for”.

Footwear retailer, Ziera, took the small category (<100 FTE) for the second consecutive year.

The brand retained the title for retailers with less than 100 FTE – a feat that has only been achieved once before in the Australian arm of the competition.

Retailworld CEO, John Caldwell, says: “It’s fantastic to see an ever growing number of voters recognising the diverse range of initiatives retailers are putting in place to attract and retain top talent. It’s a testament to retailers getting it right – investing in elements of employment branding that the public are passionate about and creating awareness around it”.
