The return of Snapple

snapple greenUS ice tea brand, Snapple, is making its return to the Australian market with a consumer sampling program.

The brand was last seen in Australia in the 1990s before withdrawing several years later.

Stuart Alexander, will distribute the brand in the local market, securing the rights from US owner,  Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPS).

Snapple will be available in four flavours – peach, lemon, raspberry, and green tea.

It will offer consumer sampling i-store nationally as well as roaming samplers in city hot spots.

The product is available at Woolworths, and other grocery and convenience stores from this month.

According to DPS, Snapple is the first of its more than 50 beverage brands throughout North America to arrive in Australia, with plans for more.

“We’re really excited to be launching Snapple in Australia, giving Aussies the chance to experience the US number one premium iced tea brand,” said Mark Barr, GM, Stuart Alexander.

“Welcoming Snapple into our beverage portfolio complements our existing business and strengthens our growing premium beverage portfolio.

“New brands are successfully adding value to the iced tea category and the Snapple launch offers that incentive for would be stockists. Major retailers have already seized the opportunity to make this the summer of iced tea,” Barr said.
