Shellharbour open for business

Stockland Shellharbour will officially open this weekend following its $330 million redevelopment.

“The grand opening of Myer in the newly expanded Stockland Shellharbour marks an exciting milestone for both Stockland and the Illawarra community as a whole,” said John Schroder, CEO Commercial Property, Stockland.

“We are looking forward to welcoming our customers to the centre this weekend to celebrate the grand opening of Myer and this final stage of the redevelopment.”

Retailers at the new centre include Target, Kmart, Coles, Woolworths and more than 220 specialty stores, such as Country Road, Witchery, Nike, Seduce, Sportscraft, Wittner, Sheike, Peter Alexander, Forcast, Craig Cook’s Prime Quality Meats, City Chic, Moochi, Tree of Life, Connor, SES, Betts 4 Her, Napoleon, Colette by Colette Hayman, Swarovski, and Hype DC.

The centre boasts an expanded Fresh Food Market, the City Square with alfresco dining, parents’ rooms, outdoor kids’ play area, and more than 3500 car spaces.

Retailers expected to open in the coming months include Next Byte, General Pants Co., Bonds, Be Me, Suzanne Grae, Autograph, Adairs, Westpac, House, Simon’s Jewellers, Smart Dollar, and Portmans.

“Shellharbour is the new fashion capital in the Illawarra,” said Schroder.

“The centre has rapidly become the new fashion, food and entertainment destination and is a magnet attracting customers from Miranda to Canberra and as far south as Moruya.”

Myer ambassador, Jennifer Hawkins, and Myer CEO Bernie Brookes will officially open the new Myer store on Saturday.

“We are planning a fantastic day of activities for the grand opening of the new Myer store at Stockland Shellharbour we hope the Illawarra community will enjoy,” said Myer CEO Bernie Brookes.

“The response we have had since opening the doors for the first time last Saturday has been very promising, with customers flocking to see our new store,” he said.
