Spar targets India
Spar re-entered the Indian market last August following the signing of a partnership agreement with Max Hypermarkets.
Through the partnership Spar has already relaunched 16 hypermarkets, with an additional four openings planned for the remainder of 2015.
It plans to open 25 by Spar hypermarkets by 2017 and expects to increase its current workforce of 2500 across the country to 3300 over the next two years. It is anticipated Spar India will reach €300million turnover by 2019.

Where other global brands have struggled to gain traction, Spar’s brand values and offering, global expertise and partnership model, have brought immediate benefits for retailer, supplier and, ultimately, the consumer.”
The Netherlands-based company recently reported 2014 global retail sales of €31.9 billion from 12,300 stores in 40 countries.
