Sportsgirl unveils digital windows

sportsgirl-digitalAustralian fashion retailer, Sportsgirl, has unveiled a series of digital store windows in tandem with several other new tech initiatives.

The store windows showcase three fashion films and centre on the retailer’s latest campaign, Style Never Sleeps.

Sportsgirl’s Boorangoon, Rundle Mall, Melbourne Central, Highpoint, Doncaster, Bondi, George St, Robina, and Chapel St stores feature films by The Joy Collective agency.

Sportsgirl has also updated its augmented reality smartphone app this month for readers of its print magazine, The Daily Us.

The smartphone app, Sportsgirl Explore, now lets print readers scan the magazine’s pages for extra content, such as catwalk shows and beauty tutorials.

Readers can also shop the pages of the magazine through a smartphone.

The Daily Us debuted last year and is also available to read online via Issuu. Sportsgirl is not the first fashion retailer to launch a magazine in recent times.

Net-A-Porter’s Mr Porter released a magazine last year, and pureplay competitors Asos and The Iconic also have print magazines in the Australian market.

Sportsgirl markets itself as a digital leader and has implemented several Australian firsts, such as shoppable windows using QR codes.
